How to highlight (select) your text.

Left click your mouse and hold it down while dragging your mouse over some text to select it. It will appear selected by showing the text as highlighted. You select an image buy simply clicking on the image and it will show an box around the image when it is highlighted.

You highlight text and images when you want to do something to them such as make text bold or copy it.

Shortcut keys

For Window's based computer systems.

By holding down two buttons on your keyboard at the same time it gives you useful shortcuts. Try these simple combinations. You will need to highlight text or an image to apply these shortcuts so the computer knows what area of your document you want to change.

Ctrl key and the C key       this will copy your selected text or image.

Ctrl key and the V key       this will paste something you just copied to where your curser is flashing on the page.

Ctrl key and the B key       this will make your text bold like this.

Ctrl key and the I key         this will make your text italics like this.

Ctrl key and the U key       this will make your text underlined like this.

Ctrl key and the Z key       this will undo your work back one step. To go back more than one step apply the shortcut buttons again. Depending on the program you are using they usually allow you to undo about 6 steps one at a time.

Ctrl key and the P key       this will print your page out if you are connected to a printer.

Ctrl key and the A key       this will highlight everything within your page or document for you to then select something to apply to it such as copy.
